Your privacy

Looking for help should not mean being tracked. Here is exactly what this site does and does not collect — in plain language.

The short version

No account, no cookies, no third-party trackers. We count how often a category is opened — never who opened it, and never in a way that ties back to you. The list you build stays in your own browser and never reaches our servers.

What we count

To understand what people need, we keep simple daily tallies: how many times a category, an organization, or a county page was opened on a given day, which search words were used, and the general kind of site that sent you here (a search engine, a partner, a social link, or a direct visit).

These are aggregate counts only. A record says “on 3 August 2026 the Housing category was opened 47 times” — there is no visitor identifier, no session, no cookie, and no per-visit record that could tie a page view to a person.

Search words

The words people search are stored so we can see what the directory is missing. They are lowercased and separated from any person or visit — we cannot tell who searched for what. Because a search word can itself be sensitive, we keep them only as long as they are useful and then delete them, in line with Triad Health Project's data-retention practices.

Your saved list

When you save organizations to My List, the list and any private notes you add are stored in your own browser, on your device. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data clears the list. Sharing a list by link puts the selection into the link itself — we keep no record of who created it.

No cookies for tracking

We do not use cookies to follow you or advertise to you, so there is no cookie banner. The only stored value is a small preference for light or dark mode, kept on your device.

If you have a staff account

The directory is maintained by Triad Health Project staff who sign in to keep listings current. For those accounts we store a name, email, phone number, organization, and job title. To keep an accurate, tamper-evident history of edits, signed-in actions are written to an audit log that includes the time, the action, and — for security — a one-way salted hash of the IP address and the browser string. We never store a raw IP address; note that a hashed IP is still treated as personal data, not as anonymous. This audit history is kept indefinitely as an accountability record.

Tips and corrections

If you suggest an organization or report a problem, you may optionally leave an email address so we can follow up. It is used only for that purpose.

Who helps us run the site

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf: hosting (Vercel) and the database (Neon). We do not sell data, and we do not share it for advertising.

No medical or client records

This directory lists organizations only. It never contains patient information, client records, or any health information about an individual.

Triad Health Project's privacy policy

This directory is operated by Triad Health Project. THP's organization-wide privacy policy applies alongside the site-specific details above, and it is where the formal terms live — including how to ask what information is held about an account, correct it, or request its deletion, and how long information is kept. You can also reach THP at info@triadhealthproject.org.
